Nifty-Bar, Inc. specializes in double disc grinding
applications. Our array of double disc grinders includes
oscillating feed, rotary feed, and thru-feed equipment
suitable for a wide variety of high precision applications.
Double Disc Technology
With double disc grinding technology, parts are passed one or
more times between two counter-rotating grinding wheels.
Double disc grinding removes material from both sides of the
part at the same time providing surfaces that are flat and
parallel in one operation. This technology can be used for
economical production of one of a kind parts through millions
of parts per year.
Speed and Economy
For rotary feed and thru-feed applications, parts can often be
completely processed at high speed in a single pass through
our equipment for quick turnaround and maximum economy
Our oscillating feed equipment can be used for large parts and
for applications that require more material removal than is
practical with rotary feed or thru-feed equipment.
Double disc ground parts can be precisely controlled for
thickness while achieving superior surface finishes. Even
difficult to grind materials such as inconel and
be ground flat and parallel through double disc grinding since
are processed by the flat surfaces of the wheels instead
of by wheel edges. Double disc grinding can also be used to
produce products with very thin cross sections
minimizing part stress.
Double disc ground materials and components are used for many
diverse applications including:
Blades and Knives
• Component Part Blanks
• Connecting Rods
• Cutters and Dies
• Gears and Gear Blanks
• Shims and Spacers
• Valve Plates
For products requiring heavy material
removal to achieve the final dimensions, we can combine our
Blanchard grinding and double disc grinding capabilities to
provide the most economical approach for your project.
